Developing the magazing structure for PokerStars.net from scratch was the first step of a 4 year journey. This magazine soon positionated as the main poker media of Latin-America, having prime sports personalities & artists from all over the world collaborating and bringing the media to a major level of entertaining and poker related news.
Sections as "Technology & Tendences" brought a fresh view over the upcoming gadgets and suggested to the reader a combination of products that had all innovation as a main subject. Always mixing information with art in order to provide a unique visual experience from page to page.
Personalities as Manu Ginobili, Ronaldo, Gaston Gaudio, MoneyMaker, were some of the cover of PokerFace and Main characters of featured interviews that we produced and photoshooted for this magazine. The main porpose of the media was to get poker closer to the sports figures to show the world that this mental sport is as challenging as any otrher discipline.
Over the first year of graphic designing the entire magazine (printed & digital version) I was named Art Director of PokerFace and had to start giving directions to a team of graphic designers and editors. Mixing sports content and humor with original aesthetics - that became a classic over the years -, were some of the premises that we had to accomplish on this media.
Fashion icons and TV personalities also were invited often to participate into the productions. My job was to Art Direct this photoshootings, graphic design the covers and the main interviews for this productions.
PokerFace was named official LAPT (Latin American Poker Tour) Magazine and began to be distributed over the main casinos and hotels in the world.
Over the fourth year of working in this project I've been hired as an Art Director for The Link Towers and had to leave the magazine for good. The media is still growing and evolving from the structures I'd designed over that years of working.
